Well, this might be the little different topic indeed, but I want to highlight this here, at least some people will understand or realize what exactly Requirement means.
I was working in NTTDATA before joining SpadeWorx Software Service, When I decided to change the Job I updated my resume in November 2013, which never helped me J.
I joined SpadeWorx Software Service as I was working here only, before joining the NTTDATA, so I just went back to my old company.
By referring same resume which I updated in November 2013, I got one call from one good company, It was MNC, I don’t want to name the company here. There was one lady from HR department, she called me and asked,
“Are you looking for change?”.
I said NO.
She said, OK no problem, I will put your resume in my inbox for future reference and will call you after 6 months, I said OK no problem.
Just for curiosity, as call was from one of the big organization in India, I asked her, what exactly you are looking for ?? … She said we are looking for “Sr. Software Developer” having minimum 5-6 years of experience.
I said OK … what is JD ? What all the skills you think candidate must be having ?
Trust me I was literally shocked by hearing from her… let me list out it….
Before that please keep in mind that she was looking for “Sr. Software Developer” having minimum 5-6 years of experience,
Here we go… below are the skills she was looking for …
- EXPERT in C# and ASP.NET
- EXPERT in WCF
- EXPERT in J-Query and Java Script.
- EXPERT in writing Unit Test Cases.
- EXPERT in Database Designing
- EXPERT in Database Programming
- EXPERT in MVC and MVP
- EXPERT in TFS 2012
- EXPERT in Team Handling
- EXPERT in Communication Skill
- EXPERT in Client Communication
- EXPERT in Requirement Gathering
- EXPERT in designing Technical Document based on Requirement Document.
- EXPERT in Documentation
- Ready to work in Night shift.
- Ready to travel Bangalore Office.
I said … wait … wait … wait …
Are you seriously looking for Sr. developer ???
She said Yes !!!
I said, I really don’t think you are looking for Sr. Developer, I think you are looking for something else by seeing your JD.
Then after some bla … bla … she said Prashant, I just got this from our technical panel and I am just telling you the details.
Then I asked, Is your technical panel knows, What are they looking for ???
Because as a technical person, I really don’t think you can expect such JD (Specially EXPERT in all area) from Sr. Developer.
It was really frustrating for her and me as well….
How you call some one and just read whatever your are seeing on your screen without even first level of understanding. Top of this how technical panel come up with such JD for Sr. Developer ???
I think something is wrong in Process or Understanding !!!
